How to add more self-care to your daily routine
-
Create a morning routine
- Our brain is habitual, studies show that around 95% of the things we do think or say come from habit. That's why creating healthy routines is super important. Wake up at the same time every day, make your bed as soon as you wake up, meditate, the list goes on and on. There are plenty of healthy things you can do throughout the day and the more you are consistent the easier it will be to do them. Find a routine that works for you! Wake up at 7 am, make your bed, do a quick 10 min yoga stretch and take a shower with the Joy Foaming Polish then moisturise with the Joy Lotion. After that, you’ll be all set to get ready and head off to work!
-
Eat nutrient-dense foods
- Who else gets the afternoon slump? We’ve all been there! We tend to not prioritise our meals and either we eat something small like a soup or something bigger like a sandwich and chips. Once we start prioritising our meals and what we put in our bodies, you will feel more energised and productive.
-
Take moments of the day to recentre
- It’s really easy to get overwhelmed by all of the different things that you feel you need to do by the end of the day. The Peace Balm is incredible for box breathing, meditation or even just to take a moment for myself. Place it on your wrists, take a deep breath and immediately start feeling relaxed and grounded. Also so easy to carry around in your purse or coat pocket.
-
Listen to your body, don’t be harsh on yourself
- It’s okay to slow down, it’s okay to need some time for yourself, it’s okay to need a break. Listen to your body, we are not machines, needing a break is 100% valid!
-
Create a sleep routine
- The best time of the day is bedtime. A sleep routine should be sacred, it is your time to unwind completely. After dinner, try lighting the Calm Candle, take a warm relaxing shower with the Calm Shower Cream and then moisturise with the Calm Body Cream and Body & Massage Oil (you will wake up with the softest, hydrated silky skin). Try red lights, they help release melatonin and get into bed. Have a strict no-phone rule 45 min before the time you want to go to sleep.
-
Do things for you
- Do at least 1 thing a day that makes you happy. This can be anything from, a nice meal, a new purchase, reading your book, a show. Something that makes you happy. Little acts of Self Love can go very far for your overall happiness.
Everyone is different and has different needs. Listen and respect your body, create healthy boundaries for yourself. Remember that Self-Care is a form of Self-Love.
Namaste,
